HOUSE CHECKS

As a component of our Neighborhood Watch Program the Medford Township Police Department takes extraordinary steps to give you peace of mind when you are on vacation or away from your home for an extended period of time.

The House Check Program allows our residents to enjoy their vacation and to leave safeguarding their homes and property to us. The program is simple and voluntary. A resident simply has to report that they will be away on vacation and provide information such as:

• Name

• Address

• Telephone Number

• Dates the House will be unoccupied

• An Emergency Contact Person

• Emergency Contact Telephone Numbers

• Alarm Status

• Automatic Light Systems

• Vehicle left on Location

• Names of any person allowed to be on the property ( i.e. cleaning personnel, landscapers)

Officers will then periodically check the exterior of the residence by conducting “old fashioned” police work by pulling on doors and checking your windows to make sure that the property is secure. Any deficiency is noted and when possible corrected.
