Child I.D. Kits

The Medford Police Department works in cooperation with the Medford Township Police Officer Association, the Medford Township Superior Officers Association and the Medford Township Board of Education to distribute National Child Identification Program I.D. Kits to all elementary school students.  Upon the initial implementation of the program, all of the students in the elementary schools were provided the kits.  Since that time, the Police Department continues to provide I.D. Kits to all Kindergarten students in the Township and Saint Mary’s Schools.

Each kit includes an inkless fingerprint kit, a wallet card, and DNA collection swabs.

This is a community service initiative dedicated to providing parents with a tool they can use to help protect their children.  The I.D. Kit allows parents to collect specific information by easily recording the physical characteristics and fingerprints of their children on identification cards that are then kept at home by the parent or guardian.

Every second counts when the police are called to take the lead in the investigation and recovery of a missing child. If ever needed, the I.D. Kit gives the police the vital information to assist in their efforts to locate a missing child.

This program is completely funded by the Medford Township Police Department and both Police Department Associations.  The I.D. kits are provided free of charge to each child and their family.
